Welcome to my blog!

It's a sparkly end-of-summer afternoon here and I've just come in the house after napping in a sun spot on the back porch. Seems to me this is the perfect time to get my blog going and introduce myself!

I'm Kenda, a yellow Lab service dog. I was trained by the nice folks at Saint Francis Service Dogs in Virginia, and I now work for my person/partner, Leigh. Leigh, was born with cerebral palsy, and I help her out with physical things that are hard for her to do on her own. We make a great team--I help Leigh by picking up things she drops, adding stability when she walks, and retrieving things around the house. She takes good care of me and gives me lots of treats and paw rubs. I think we are a great match; in fact, other people often tell us we look alike (except my person does not have a tail to wag)! That's us in the picture here.

I'll add information and more posts here shortly...in the meantime, you can find out about me and my family by visiting: www.leighbrill.com. That's where Leigh shares information about her work and her first book, A Dog Named Slugger. Slugger is my best fur-friend and mentor, and though he is now on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, we have a lot in common.

Oh! Leigh is calling me, and YES, she has a tennis ball in her hand. That can only mean one wonderful, perfect, glorious thing--time for a game of fetch!!!

Wags until next time...
